As Calatravas continue to drive collector enthusiasm, Antiquorum is offering the best option of the season. This high quality fake Patek Philippe Calatrava watches ref. 530, lot 773, was produced in 1939, the second production year for the reference, and has just about the most ideal dial and case configuration you could dream up. It is fresh to market from the collection of “an Italian Gentleman,” according to the auction house. The 530 is the upper echelon of vintage Calatravas. They are 1.5mm larger in diameter than the more standard ref. 570 and ultra rare. So rare that collectors barely knew they were real until a letter from Patek surfaced in 2004 confirming that some time-only 530s were made (typically, the reference number is used for chronographs).
In particular, Breguet-numeral 530s go crazy at auction. The record price for a 530 was set in 2016 for a steel case, black Breguet-numeral dial at CHF 1.4m — we’ll see how this one stacks up. The dial has been cleaned, as is obvious by the clearly removed and put back on a bit cooked numerals, but these are buy best copy watches about rarity.
